I’m an English teacher and translator. At present I teach adults who need English for specific purposes, mainly for work and travel, so their key goals are to communicate effectively across cultures, build social and business relationships, and get things done not only at the workplace but in everyday life.

I am interested in different fields of study: phonetics and phonology, linguistics, pragmatics and discourse. I specialized in business, technical, and professional English. As a researcher, I find it fascinating the study of cross cultural issues, the differences underlining British and American English, and how the language is changing, featuring new words from the internet, and becoming more popular in day-to-day conversation.

I grew up and spent much of my working life in Argentina teaching English as a Second Language and Spanish for foreigners. I’ve also lived in the US, where I taught ESL and Spanish as Second Language at middle and high schools. Also I’ve worked as a mentor for a Teacher Training Course at John Tyler Community College in Virginia. I’ve delivered workshops for teachers at FLAVA (Foreign Language Association of Virginia).
